I am doing my masters in design and manufacturing(mechanical engineering) and have designed and buiilt quite a lot of stuffs. I am working on CAD software for over 6 years now. In my bachelors I designed and built a full size ATV whose CAD model can be seen in my portfolio. I am currently working on my own design of a 3d printer that has altogether different mode of printing and its application. I have experience in a CNC prototyping shop, designing product to be produced easily in the shop. You will end up saving money going with someone with experience; many times shop will charge more for complex/unrealistic parts. At our shop, we charged up to 4x more for a more complicated piece, or sometimes even send the part back for redesign. I can guarantee that you won't have to go through that headache. I have also worked with clients to bring several consumer products to market. If you want a ergonomic, practical design with the ability to drop the drawing off at a shop with very little questions asked, consider accepting my reasonable bid on this project.
