**I need a C code that finds the 3D-shape that results from shifting/sweeping a 3D-shape in certain direction. That is, the input to the code is a 3D shape and a direction and the output is a 3D shape.** **This is a standard problem and I wish to obtain a reliable code for it. If someone can find a code over the net that does the job, modify it if needed, test and make sure it is reliable and compile that should be good enough for me. Otherwise a code could be written based on solid knowledge of the problem.** The following is some back-ground about the problem. According to my knowledge the existing 3D-shape representations are; 1. Solids. The whole body of the 3D shape is represented by 3D grid of points. 2. Surfaces, which could be represented by one of the following methods; - Polygons. That is, a series of points. Each set of them are connected with each other to form a polygon. This polygon can be a triangle, hexagon…..etc. In Matlab language this is called patches representation. - Point Curves. That is, a number of curves each represented by a number of points. In Matlab language this is called surface representation. There will generally be two directions in this case. The curves direction and the curves-progression direction. - Control-points curves. This is similar to the previous two cases but each of the curves is given in terms of control points and some kind of interpolation is used to connect these control points. and others. The first step in producing the code is to decide which of the above representations is to be used. A main factor in deciding that is execution speed (within fractions of second) as this code only solves a small part of a bigger problem. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
