Wordpress changes to website

changes to an existing website - setting up 2 menus and some tweaks to an existing template - all should be quick and straightforward , as what we need is already in the template , should just be enabling/configuring, plus linking two types of content together. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Preamble We had to rebuild our website, which runs wordpress, with a paid-for theme from MonsterTemplates that is already installed, but not yet fully configured. We have some basics there, but we are changing it in phases to meet our needs - from experience, it’s simply too complicated to try to find the time to do all the changes at once in one step, so we will contract developers to do each element as we design it. All changes will be made to a live site, so any content will need to be sensitive, with only Lorem Ipsum as content. No Actual photos/media should be used, just our logo in substitution of an image, or video we provide should the content require any video content. Where possible we will give you the actual content required so the correct minimum “placeholder” items are provided to “fill in the boxes” so the display works as design. What we do is to offer recycling/end-of-life services to companies in the UK mainly for their used IT equipment, and donate the best equipment to charity – for a brief overview please see the youtube video [login to view URL] We now have a site with little more than headers and frontpage menu – so now we quickly need some active content The site is at [login to view URL] The demo for the template is at [login to view URL] Change required this time What we need this time is to get the “success story” and “changing lives” content working I see the “changing lives” content as being the charities we support, and the “success stories” as being the actual donations made to those charities – e.g. one charity has so far had 3 separate donations. So what do we want to happen when you click on the “changing lives” menu – we need the menu to work just like the “services” (not the “players” ) menu from the template demo, but instead of showing all the players, it shows the charities we work with. Once clicking on any of the charities (ie. Services from the template), the page for that charity needs to show up – we have put them into three categories, African Education, UK Education, and UK Charity, so we need to be able to edit them (please tell me how) into those different categories – likewise when selecting those categories from the mainmenu, only show (filter) those categories. We have 2 charity pages (not formatted yet), that open when clicking the slider images from the homepage as examples By “success stories”, we mean the individual donations made to those charities – e.g. for the msaada charity, we have made 3 separate donations of equipment. We need three separate stories we can put into the “success stories” page. There is also a part of the home page called “success stories” that also needs to be populated with these at the same time. When opening the success story page, it’s just the same format as the “changing lives” one, but shows each individual donation. We do need a way of linking them together, so in each success story, we need to be able to link them to the charity, and also when viewing each charity’s page, likewise be able to show the “success stories” on that charity page. For each type (either success story, or charity), we may embed media, either photos or video, but we will be responsible for any media we upload. What’s not needed right now We will need in the future to do the following, but is not necessary at this moment Post all success stories to facebook and twitter accounts directly from our website
