My name is Nicholas Hiromura, I am an American citizen, originally from the New York area and for the past eight years I have been working as a freelance translator (GER>EN - IT>EN) and interpreter (GER>EN - EN>GER) with a focus on the political and cultural fields, both in academic and non-academic contexts.
I have experience in the translation of lecture series, speeches, antiquated, thus far untranslated articles, personal webpages, as well as articles for more popular magazines (in the botanical field). In addition I have experience interpreting technical training seminars as well as philosophical and psychoanalytic presentations.
In general, I am open for all kinds of texts and find it particularly interesting to translate texts from fields which are new for me, especially because I enjoy the research required for these texts. This is due, in no small part, to the fact that translation is not a purely financial matter for me, but rather a passion.
