o Title of the thesis : Tissue culture studies and Interspecific hybridization in the genus Nicotiana
I took tobacco for study . I performed a cross betweenone species of Nicotiana reported resistant to the species of the root knot nematode Melodiogyne javanica. M.arenaria and M. incognita. and the genotypes of Nicotiana tabacum. Seed obtained were unable to sprout normally or on100 ppm Gibberllic acid solution. I adopted tissue culture methods and the hybrids obtained possesed the intermediate characters between the two parents. The hybrid nature was confirmed morphologically, biochemically and cytogenetically.I have also done molecular studies.
o Synopsis of the work done for M.Phil :
I took twenty one genotypes of Vigna radiata wilczeck.(L) for my study. I studied the variations and better yielders and their relation to growth in two seasons of Andhra Pradesh, India.
o Synopsis of the work done during my tenure as an R& D Executive :I evolved different formulations with the powdered Beet juice ( spray dried with starch ) for different types of food items for their colour and nutrituous value.
o Techniques Known :
I am well versted with the latest techniques in Plant biotechnology and tissue culture. I also well versed with the colour evaluations through PC based spectrophotometry for different types of natural colours from different plant species and well versed with HPLC technique.
