Senior Research of Wind Turbine

THANH-TOAN TRAN Research Center for Offshore Wind Turbine Technology (ReCOWT), South Korea Research Experiences: • Led a group which successfully designed and calculated of vertical axis wind turbine (KWIND vertical axis wind turbine - Model: KV-100. Available ). • 4 years member of design, simulation, and experiment for 5-MW floating offshore wind turbine funded by the South Korean Government • Coupling STARCCM+ and ABAQUS for fluid-structure interaction simulation of wind turbine blades, tube heat exchanger, a wing of aircraft…etc. • Using famous FAST code (developed by NREL) and NuMAD (developed by Sandia National Laboratories) for the design, simulation, and optimization of 5-MW wind turbine. • Efficient coupled CFD-CSD method for panel flutter analysis (FLUENT and in-house CSD code) • Design and FEM analysis of filament would structure under high internal pressure.
