CodeIngniter Website URL fix

Hello All,
We have developed an custom web in codeigniter and I wanted to remove [url removed, login to view] from URL....when I try to do it from .htaccess the website just doesnt work and give me the url something like this root/[url removed, login to view]
Its working fine in localhost (WAMP) but not in live server (centos 6)
Do place your bid if you can help me quickly....
You have to work through teamviewer to fix this issue
