I have the complete layout, etc done. What i need is a decent security login session with probably only a one-way encryption as it'll have no personal information besides passwords. Upon login, users will be able to type up updates in a designated mini-blog box with a character limit. This is to be a very sophisticated project implemented very smoothly, in other words, has to look nice/professional. Color theme, design etc already decided, all that's needed is the PHP/MYSQL portions necessary for the recording and updating of information.

Main tasks: User has to be able to login after registering an accountname/password that leads them directly to their blog profile. There will be a link called something like Update SS1, where upon clicking, will expand a designated size box that user can type up words limited by a character limit and after submitting, will be shown. There are roughly 3-4 sections that have a lot of the similar material so it should be easy to copy and paste.
