We are looking to have a digital photo upload browser widget created for use in our web application. The widget must perform the following functions:
Client Functions
allow multiple photos to be selected and uploaded simultaneously from the user's computer or networked drive
standardize the size of the photos before they are uploaded. The size should be configurable on the server
convert photos to JPG before sending
A typical example is that a user will select 4 or 5 digital photos and start an upload process. The digital photos will be standardized to 800x600 JPG format on the client before they are uploaded.
The upload widget must be able to support the major browser configurations and not rely on java or activeX support although it can test and downgrade as needed.

Thank you for considering this project: Please note that the project requires more than a simple upload widget. We are looking for a means for supporting multiple browser configurations so a single applet or activeX does not work. Rather, we are looking for a system which will test the browser capabilities and provide a java applet if java is enabled on the client, an activeX if the client does not have java but has .NET installed, and falling back to an ajax'd HTML upload otherwise.
