[url removed, login to view] is a unique website for collectors (coins, stamps, banknotes, phone cards, bottle caps and more...) from around the world offering its services in 58 languages. Most of the translators on Colnect are volunteers that translate Colnect using a unique and easy interface. This interface is described on: [url removed, login to view]
Managing so many translators and checking the progress of each task is currently a time consuming task which this project is meant to help with. The project is for writing an external script (preferably PHP/MySQL-based as Colnect is using PHP) that will do the following tasks:
1/ Log in to Colnect with a translations manager account.
2/ Go to a Colnect page which contains all the links to pages that might need translations. Currently, there are ~105 such pages.
3/ Check each and every page and find out how many translations are missing (it\'s clearly written on the fetched page).
4/ Create a CSV or XLS report table with one row per page and one column per language. Each cell will contain the number of missing translations. Totals should be added. An email with this report should be sent to an admin.
5/ Extract from another Colnect page who\'s responsible for each and every language.
6/ Send a template private message on Colnect (phpBB based messaging system) to the responsible person detailing when the check was made and which pages miss translations and how many translations they miss.
7/ Log script execution activity in a MySQL table.
To properly bid on this project and show that you have understood the requirements please simply write how you will fetch the pages that might need translations. Also write how many cells will be in the automatically created report.
