Remember the dial up bbs's that were big in the late 80's early 90's? ? I want to do something like that but telnet based in C#
Server will run on a windows machine. Take inbound telnet requests.
I'd like to use the MS free SQL desktop server for data storage.
User connects, gets a "welcome screen".?
Asked for a id then password. ? They can also register if they do not have one. Regsiter is just name, login id and password.
They get a menu:
? or H gets a help screen.
M just goes to a screen that displays random text and they have to type 'x' to get back to main menu
T same as M
G - shows a "logout screeen" and terminates thier connection.
P - Change password
Pretty simple, just trying to learn C# .. you'll help with this project.
## Deliverables
When the system starts it should have an interface. ? I'd like to be able to do config (just limit # of connections and "system name" for now. System name will be displayed in the ? help section.
The interface will also have a list of people connected with their name, id and location (which menu option they are in).
It will need to handle multiple connections.
Screens (log in, log out, etc). ? Open to ideas on how to display. Would be ok as having them hardcoded.
menu system. I'd like it to be a handler of sorts so I can ad new options easily.
Needs to compile with Visual studio 2005.
