Data Scrubbing
I am looking for an automated solution to be used continualy with different data sets.
Solution will take a lump of flat files, remove specific files according to criteria within the file name, rename a few delimited sections within the file name, create an excel spredsheet of results.
$200 paid for complete data scrubbing, copy of script file, excel spredsheet of results.
Script must be provided at end of job.
Here is a sample of the data that needs to be scrubbed. When the name, date of birth, and category (Labs) are all the same, we need to look for the most recent file to keep. The date to use is the one that is NOT in parentheses. In the case where all dates and times are the same use the highest digit found immediately before the 2nd date. The attached file shows the files that would be kept with denoted with red arrows.
Additionally, the renaming of the file simply needs to be as follows:
ORGINAL: __1952.02.24__Joseph __ E__Robert __Labs (Jul 21, 2011)__1__Aug 5 2011 1-47PM.tiff
NEW NAME: __1952.02.24__Joseph __ E__Robert __Labs.tiff
Summary:
• Keep the most recent file
• Identify by 2nd date (not in parentheses)
• If dates are the same go to the time
• If the dates and times are the same, use the highest digit immediately before the 2nd date
