My client has a food delivery website. Their current back office is provided by Magento which is very similar like our back office. But my client wants to add a few particular functions to their website. They knew that these functions cannot be easily created by their current platform. So they propose some requirements to our company for further cooperation. Please find the requirements below.
1. Each order may contain a few restaurants, but every single delivery fee is charged only once, regardless of the number of orders in restaurants. However, there is a minimum order amount for every restaurant. If guests do not meet the minimum spending amount, there is an additional $ 1.5 for each restaurant. Assuming the guests chose the three restaurants, three failed to reach their lowest consumption, then the guest will need to pay extra 1.5 * 3 = $ 4.5.
2. The site has an OPEN/CLOSED function. During the closed time, the customer cannot enter online order page. When the customer click on the check out button, it will pop up a small window says ‘We are closed, our open hours is 9:00 am to 10:00 pm’. In addition, for each restaurant there is an open/closed hours indication button. Refer to: [login to view URL], www.bebestdeli.com.
3. Restaurants Interface: When customers order online, the system automatically recognizes different dishes belonging to which restaurants and automatically sent out the dishes list to every restaurant including dishes list, number, and order info. Required interfaces: email, SMS, fax.
4. Provides delivery time slot for pre-order customers. The customers can choose deliver orders right now or between a time slot. If customers choose pre-order function, then the delivery fee is only $2 per order. At the backend, the system can arrange order lists for every single time slot. So they can easily get the food from the restaurant.
