c# multi threaded dll

I have a dll that is single threaded. The problem is I need to make the dll multithreaded in one way. I am using a dll that connects to a tcpip server. The problem is that it runs in the GUI thread. I need it to start a thread of it's own. I do not know much about multi threaded coding but I am sure for someone who does this will be an easy project. I just need a few of the methods to be multi threaded. I can tell you the methods I need to be multi threaded so they will stop hanging up my GUI.
