I’m looking for someone to help me build an api that allows me to execute CFD stock trades from Excel. I wish to use IG Market’s Rest API ([login to view URL]), for the ability to execute on CFD trades.
On Excel, I’ll have a dashboard that receives information from IG and also sends various instructions to IG. See attached mock dashboard. The yellow represents information that I want received from IG. The green represents inputs that I’ll be putting in Excel that’ll execute a certain instruction on IG.
Roughly, the API should be able to:
• Look up a stock code that I input in the dashboard (see dark green cells), and retrieve relevant information from IG.
• Show the current bid/ask, mid price for a certain stock.
• Show the current funds available in my IG account.
• Check the volume of prior trades.
• Check whether a stock is tradable.
• Check a stock’s market open price.
• Check a stock’s prior day close price.
• The dashboard will then issue a set of instructions to API, executing the trade (see green cells) ( issue either a Market or Limit order) (needs to set a good for day expiry date)
• Set expiry of limit orders (at end of day) (trade is a limit order).
• Issue Take Profit and Stop Loss levels.
• Change TP and SL levels.
• Close off positions.
• Confirm trades and details (price, volume, time, take profit, stop loss).
• Confirm closure of order (price, volume, time, take profit, stop loss).
