Build a Profile/Character Database Website

I need a relatively simple and straightforward website built that will work as a profile database/directory.
The website will be a one page template that will display tiled profile images and will have sorting functionality that will allow users to refine the list, making the profile images load dynamically. The list of profiles will load as you scroll down the page, and can be clicked on to display some information on the same page.

It will need to be responsive, but does not need to be mobile friendly.
The design has already been completed in a neatly organised PSD, and is ready to be cut up. I require the website's HTML/CSS/PHP to be completed, and to have a CMS put behind it.
I would prefer this to be built in WordPress as it’s the CMS i’m most familiar with. This means experience in WordPress Plugins and custom post types will be necessary.
I will need to be able to create profiles in WordPress where I can input numerous bits of information.
Once an applicant has been chosen I will work with them so they have a better understanding of what I’m after, and how I see everything working.

- The WordPress CMS, WP Plugins and WP Custom Post Types
- MySQL
