**HISTORY**: I operate a small internet business utilizing a leased server which has been functioning non-stop since 2005. I am not a computer programmer/network tech. I am especially unskilled with firewalls and blocking of potential threats to my business site, or recognizing php exploits. The business site runs a customized Zen Cart script which is where I fear the php exploit problem lies.

**PROBLEM**: In the past two months, major malicious activity has been found to exist on the server, so much, in fact, that the server Lessor has received two complaints against my server for phishing attacks against their (major brand name) companies. Upon closer look, I have found hundreds of rogue .php files have been deposited onto my server (specifically into the home where my business site resides) used for hackers to illegally collect data from unsuspecting would-be consumers.

**POTENTIAL SOLUTION**: You are a highly trustworthy, proven experienced Linux (CentOS is my current OS) person capable of tracking down these malicious hackers on my system. You can find all rogue files being deposited here and there by these creeps. You can stop them dead in their tracks by suggesting and implementing a better firewall and suggestions for me to consider to tighten up security so these hackers will bypass my system in favor of another one whose security is as poor as my server currently is.

**FUTURE WORK: **My intention is to find someone here who I can trust for future work needed on the server. I would like to develop a rapport with you so that you learn my server and I can trust you to treat it with respect and not leave access holes for future mis-use.

I look forward to hearing from those of you who fit the bill and deem yourselves super-qualified and trustworthy!

## Deliverables

This is an example of a file that I recovered as I was deleting this stuff from my server. If this is within your domain of experience, I want your bid! :)

Greetings and thanks for your interest in my server predicament! It occurred to me that I snagged a .php file and printed it to .pdf in my haste to delete the files today (seriously, this is an emergent situation. . . ). I've edited my original job posting to attach a .zip file containing the .pdf of one of the offending php files, in case you want to take a closer look at what I'm dealing with (probably quite familiar to you!), in the event you feel it necessary to modify your bid. Thanks again for your interest and feel free to contact me with any questions! ~Melissa in Reno, Nevada, USA
