HELP! Lol. Magento/Server (cpanel) Config/basic setup - open to bidding

Im not exactly sure. I would like to discuss with you what would be best, what information would be required and likely hours needed and est dates.

Basically i run an ebay australia store, currently only posting to australia (later may change)

I needed room for expansion (multi channel) and inventory management, image hosting etc. I signed up for auctiva but I really dislike it.

As i also have a shared webserver with an SSL, dedi IP, several domains etc, I thought a CMS would be a good idea. From what i can tell Magento is the best, and the free plugin M2E should do what I need. Do u know if this is a viable solution? But Magento basically requires PHP knowledge for initial config. The interface doesnt seem to daunting backend aside from the system and config pages. I cant even get my front end to force/redirect ssl. Not sure if its a cpanel redirect issue or a secure_base issue in magento....

My accepted payment method would be paypal only for now, I have a 'premier' account (i believe I can use this without a banking merchanting account just as a basic checkout?)

I believe I can handle the templating, content etc for now, and will worry out outsourcing design for templates and graphics later. Im hoping this is the low cost way to do something like this.

I cant claim to know much about web design or magento etc But i believe if your expertise is this kind of thing, provided you gave me a list of what id need to provide you with then this would be very easy?

More so I need advise from someone experienced to let me know if I am heading down the right path to be able to manage almost everything through magento using this. I have considered opening amazon in the future but wont until I have a proper solution under 1 roof. As currently I have ebay store using selling manager pro, using photobucket hosting and a free third party template tool, and also auctiva which i dont find very integrated, and will not work with a webstore anyway.

Budget is negotiable fully, can be hourly or project based, please contact me with ideas/options, however obviously my budget is relatively small and as far as I can tell so is the project. Basic config and a good kick in the right direction is all that I need. All other related projects regarding store design, any custom code, graphics etc will be considered in future and can easily be offered to you if you are able to assist in this initial dilemna. I pretty much just want to setup inventory management/photo hosting in the one spot for now, and be able to list them on ebay or magento easily, to use as a home base I can slowly workon and get work done for, without using tons of different services and paying many monthly fees.
