I have an SQL Server maintenance task running that takes full daily and differential hourly backups from my SQL Server 2008. I have backup software installed that can restore to the same machine but not to another server.
We have a backup DR server (SQL Server 2008R2) and I want to be able to restore the backups to the backup server in case of a total failure but the DR server will have a different hostname so I am looking for someone who can either just create a SQL script to restore to Point of Time of last SQL backup to alternate server and if necessary, create different backup script on source server if necessary. The backups are stored on an external drive so they would be accessible in the event of a total machine failure.
There are about 16 databases on the server which are currently all being backed up as part of a backup set. The databases are set to Full recovery mode.
