Ping a Webserver using Arduino & SIM908 Module via GPRS

I have an arduino duemilanove board and a GSM/GPS Tracker Shield for it. The shield has SIM908 Module in it. I want to ping a server using that. I need help with that.

Your Responsibility :

1. Write a well documented and commented Code that will Send a GET REQUEST to a URL that I provide.

2. Explain me the Code and its functioning over skype.
