New Website

New Community Website. Need it live on or before January 1st so we're giving you plenty of time. It can begin in a beta and then we will work out all the bugs with you.

There are a couple of active links to show you what site will function like and I'll get to that in a moment.

The look & feel are pretty much complete so I won't want that all rearranged but certainly tightened up, so some design experience would be a plus. Let me state here however that we have done focus group studies for this design and the consensus is a friendly and fun site. We don't want to change that. If you look at the lines on the boxes they are not there. I don't know why. It displays fine from the folder but on the web lines are not there. Evidently I have missed uploading something.

Some graphics will hyperlink to other sites, which I will provide, such as Sports Events and Weather. Want Ads and Yard Sale-that's just database the reader completes, dates, and then database purges automatically. We want this site with minimal human intervention.

Look at Area News and Job Base. We need the ability for readers to come on and post jobs. The Area News will be inputted by readers but then automatically send us email for us to approve before posting.

Readers will always be able to report abuse and help keep things clean. Look at Resources. Users will input this. Support-this will be for those who donate to our cause. (same link location for "Donations Appreciated"). They need the ability to be anonymous or listed for their support. We might want to select a minimum $ to be listed. If someone gives $5 no listing but $25 they can be. This is also the link where we will tell about ourselves and you'll see why.

See Kids Corner. We need to have challenging games for the kids that most likely will come from other game sites. At some point,(but not necessary in the beginning)we want contests for kids so be thinking on this. When a winner is selected a local bank will give them $25 and setup their college fund. At some point, (but not necessary in the beginning) I would like to have trivia where players can play against each other, based on their age group, including great trivia for adults. There are sites that do this and should be able to be implemented. Users will provide their age during signup. That is critical for class reunions and such and cannot make up different ages. Churches and Charities-users (or us) will be able to post. Contact Us-email only. Outstanding Citizen-inputted by readers but then send us email for us to approve before posting. Same for Featured Athlete.

Click Soda Springs at top. That will show you how we will do reunions. Someone starting reunion will fill in database, such as date, contact name, phone, email, etc. and can give a summary. On expiration date, reunion will purge. Family Reunions work about the same way.

Database will provide the following from everyone that registers: Their name, High School, graduating year and ability to post a few pictures-past or present. The email and phone cannot post but once connections are made (through our system) they will have the ability to swap that info outside our system. (That is similar to Script-lance). This is how users can stay in touch. Users need to be able to create a reunion for multiple years, not just their year of graduation. Many reunions are now doing 3, 4 or more years at a time (such as graduating class of 76, 77,78) and they are a lot of fun, especially in such small communities as this site will service.

Under Sponsors tab, businesses can advertise. It needs to rotate. I am thinking one shows for about 10 minutes then another comes up. User can go see all the advertisers however. Might have to scrunch a bit but want enough room at bottom for banner advertising.

Need your expertise on credit card account. Like PayPal or should we get merchant acct? We will need to setup IM time every 2 or 3 days to get you content, instructions and learn your progress. Please do not bid if you do not have at least 15-20 projects you can prove. I do my due diligence and will check into your work before narrowing the field and selecting final bidder. I need a programmer who will stay on the project so we can hire for upgrades over the next couple years at least. We will pay you above and beyond this base project so no worries.

Lastly, we believe we will get volunteers from each community to help gather info and provide it to us. Those people can communicate easily through our conference system already in place. Is there a way any of them can log in so they can make changes to database but with different passwords so we know who posted what?
