We currently have a Visual Basic application written inhouse that is being used as an MRP. It handles the basics: customers, providers, employees, employee departments, products, materials, service orders, billing, payments, inventory, sales orders, backups, reports, etc.
All source code is available in Visual Basic 6. The database used is Access 2000. The application is currently used by multiple users within a local network though a shared resource on a little Windows server.
We have purchased a new Intel based server on which we plan to install Red Hat Linux and MySQL. The server will be accessable via TCPIP to our branch offices.
We would like to use the MRP application in our branch offices using the same Visual Basic frontend but instead of having it use an Access 2000 database available in the local network each, we would like it use the MySQL database available through TCPIP in the Linux server.
This implies adding the necessary tables and fields to the Access 2000 data base in order for it to be able to handle multiple offices without mixing information, and modifying the Visual Basic 6 source code so that it can use the new tables and fields.
It also implies migrating the Access 2000 database to MySQL and modifying the Visual Basic 6 source code so that the application would use the new database.
The current Visual Basic 6 source code does NOT use ODBC. It uses ADO. Modifying for using MyODBC is acceptable.
Coder(s) would receive current application's source code and sample Access 2000 database provided it be treated as confidential information belonging exclusively to us.
We also requiere a mechanism through which we would be able to populate the new MySQL database with the current Access 2000 database information at the time of coder's delivery. Since the current Access 2000 database only contains information for one office, this should be fairly simple to accomplish.
The current application uses only 43 database tables and has less than 40 user screens.
One last thing, the current application was written by and is used by spanish speaking people and therefore the source code's comments, and the databases tables and fields might be illegible to the coder. This should not represent a big problem since I suspect only the code's SQL statements and little other code would requiere change.

## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done and resulting MySQL database with structure and sample data.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Visual Basic 6 executable shoud run on any Windows operating system from Windows 98 and above.
The MySQL database should run on latest freely available version of? Red Hat Linux.
