Specialty Real-Estate Website
Summary – The purpose of this site will be a “self-listing” site for specialty Real Estate. The public may browse the site without Logging In. To see the Seller Contact information he will have to create a Login (free). To List his Real Estate, he will have to Login, then check out via PayPal (using Credit Card or PayPal).
This site’s basic architecture will be very similar to [login to view URL] . It will reside on the same WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) web server, which is physically located in my office. We can use some of the same PHP scripts from [login to view URL] to simplify construction. It would be fine to re-use the Login, About, FAQ and Contact PHP scripts. But the graphics and pages will have to be resized/recreated. The Logo is a text based logo w/ shadow and it is 98% ready to go.
Unlike BikeRegistry, there will be NO photo handling, Postal Code Search or Forum. The checkout will be simpler than BikeRegistry; no need for an E-Cart or Store, no sales tax or shipping costs. We can cut a few corners, ie when calculating months, just increment the month, having the day count always be 30 days, etc.
The backend will be VERY minimalistic; I will do 90% of the sorting, analyzing and maintenance of the back-end at the MySQL database level. Only need 1 or 2 very simple Admin pages on the backend. Site volume is anticipated to be perhaps 50 visitors/day and perhaps 6 MB of traffic.
It will use a few more automatic email notices than BikeRegistry uses. Automatically send out Listing expiration notices, file download notices, receipt of Payment emails, etc.
Also will use the Google Map API, using Member typed Lat-Lons to position a map marker. This is a very simple API to implement.
Software Tools – Primarily built w/ PHP/MySQL, (with other scripts and HTML used as needed). Email tool is existing IndigoMail (Windows version of UNIX Sendmail). Full root access to MS Windows Server is available. Will need new database.
Project Specifications – A considerable amount of time has been spent to create a PowerPoint of the New Site’s screens. This doc has lots of links, annotations, etc such that the site design is well explained and code development will be straightforward.
