Party booking

I've started creating asp pages in Dreamweaver to write data to MS Access 2000 but I'm stuck on sending multiple records - I'd like the project completed with comments to allow me to learn how to do it.

## Deliverables

What I’ve done so far:

Created the database with Host & Guests tables.

Created the [url removed, login to view] ??" this updates the Hosts database okay ??" doesn’t check dates, doesn’t make unavailable dates that are already booked. I’ve left the guest fields at the bottom of this form but I think they need to go.

Created [url removed, login to view] where they can type in their guests’ details ??" I can only get it to write the first guest’s details to the database.

**Purpose**

To take bookings for craft parties

**Host**

To be completed by guardian of birthday child:

Party date (ideally, I’d like it to pull the dates from a database so that only free slots are accessible)

Party time ([url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view])

Host first name

Host last name

Host address (address 1, 2, 3, suburb, postcode)

Host ‘phone

Host mobile ‘phone

Host email

Child’s first name

Child’s last name

Child’s age

Child’s notes (e.g., allergies, dietary requirements)

Number of guests (minimum 3, maximum 9)

For each guest: first name, last name

This should update the database, send an email to me to say there’s a new booking (with same details as are sent to the host), send a confirmation email to the host with the booking details (date, time, place, invitation, project & menu choices, guest list, cost, login name & password), and generate a login & password for the guests (one login, one password?) The guest login for Mary Smith’s party on 30 August 2007 could be marysmith300807. **Note** ??" if the host has no email address, that should be pointed out to be in the email to me. Can we check if email bounces?

The host should be able to log back in later to make changes ??" emails should be sent to me & the host as above.

**Guests**

To be completed by guardians of guests

They need to login ??" could the login they type automatically take them to the correct child’s party?

They check that first & last names are correct & amend if necessary

Child’s age

Child notes (allergies, etc.)

Guardian first name

Guardian last name

Guardian address (address 1, 2, 3, suburb, postcode)

Guardian ‘phone

Guardian mobile ‘phone

**Bells & whistles**

I'd like the following, depending on price:

Can I have an admin form which shows me Access reports? Could the form contain fields so that I can pass parameters to the Access report? e.g., I might want to see parties booked for a particular month, particular date, or have a dropdown list (or any sort of list) of all parties booked ??" when I select the party, I could have a report on that party?

I’d really like to be able to learn from this exercise ??" could you comment the coding as much as you have time for?

I’m not happy with the aesthetics of my pages so perhaps above and below coding you could put a comment if it has to go in a particular spot so that I don’t mess it up?
