I am the Founder and Director of Empire Rail Journeys, a boutique travel company specialising in rail tours and independent travel.
I am looking for a professional website developer who is usability-focused, happy to suggest ideas and is able to design SEM-friendly sites. I have a WordPress site already designed, although I need the following improvements made before it can go live.
• To improve the visual appearance and usability. – Some pages are already great, others need some changes to make it look better. I imagine this won’t be difficult for an experienced WordPress developer.
• Shopping basket feature. – I need this to not appear like a typical Amazon type shopping basket. I will be selling semi – custom made holidays which will need my customers to:
a) Choose 1 to 4+ pre-set itineraries that are 7 days / 6 nights long (eg Paris to Amsterdam as one itinerary + Amsterdam to Berlin + Berlin to Prague, or Amsterdam to Paris + Madrid to Barcelona + Rome to Venice)
b) Add extra nights either side of these itineraries (eg add 3 more nights in Paris + 2 more nights in Amsterdam)
c) For the sidebar / list to show their itinerary in date order before purchase.
d) In the background there will be different prices for different travel dates for both the itineraries and extra nights (ie January to March = x price, April to July = y price, etc) + blackout dates. I would like a user friendly calendar for customers to choose their travel dates.
e) For the above to filter through into an easy to use back end database.
• Have an easy to use CMS.
• Good quality search function (ie both cities and countries can be searched for).
• The integrated Google map will need improving.
• The WooCommerce payment plugin will need updating and the payment screen improved.
I need this to be done quickly and to a high professional standard. I am happy to pay an agreed base price, and once the project is completed on time and to the high standard agreed, I will pay a bonus reflecting the quality of work. I intend for this to be an ongoing relationship with good will from both sides and for this project to be an excellent example of what I can expect in the future.
