The application will allow user to create a simple window with some controls in a similar manner to visual-studio designer.
Window will start with a grid layout panel size 10X10 (auto-size for all rows and columns) on the main section, a toolbox on the left side and a properties panel on the right side.
The toolbox will contain the elements:
Label (text, font, font style, font size)
Image (image file name)
Flow Panel (user will be able to add more elements to this panel in a flow style)
Stack Panel (user will be able to add more elements to this panel in a flow style)
Adding elements is done via drag-and-drop, just like VS.
User can resize control by dragging its outline – this will increase/decrease the row/col span accordingly (the drag should be 'snap-to-grid', that is, the drag 'shadow' should jump to the next row/col line immediately).
The layout needs to be saved to xml file and loaded from that file.
each control in the UI will be represented as a class in the xml file.
A button 'Run' will open a new window with the created layout.
