We have some beautiful mountain property by a river that we want to eventually build a cabin on. In the meantime, we want to build a carriage house (garage on lower level with a 2 bedroom suite above). Since this is just phase 1 of our project with the larger cabin to come later, we really want to begin with the end in mind and design it accordingly. They also stated that we need to update our Plat of Survey. The one we have is about 60+ years old. I have a picture of my house. I would like to be able to see what it would look like with different grills in the windows so I know what it will look like before I buy the new windows. I was thinking of having 2 or 3 horizontal bars in each of the windows, instead of the horizontal and vertical grill work that they currently have. What do you recommend would look best? What would you do with the 1/2 moon window too?

I have an existing 8’x16’ structure on one end of a 40’Wx22’D concrete pad. It sits 1’ off the short (22’) edge of the pad and about 8” from the back edge of the long (40’) edge. I want to build a roof structure that would follow the roof line of the shed, be 8’ (front to back) and attach to a Pavilion type structure on the other end of the pad. The pavilion would be 12’ across the long edge and 14’-16’ across the short edge, mirroring the shed.
