It is full fledged a scientific monitoring program implemented in Nameri Tiger Reserve by the Assam Forest Department and resulted in photographic documentation of several endangered and elusive wildlife species. The camera-trap sampling duration :15 days in 2012 first study , 40 days in 2012-13 second study and 50 days in 2013-14 study which is completed recently he said . Scientific monitoring has been done entirely by the park management using Free software like QGIS (free GIS software),UBNTU (a GNU/Linux operating systems ) and many other analytical software. The preliminary result of camera-trap last 3 years of tiger monitoring has identification/capture of 5-7 unique tigers which final report to be released vary soon, Garawad said . It is mentioned that of this camera trap based tiger monitoring is the confirmation of tiger dispersal from Kaziranga Tiger Reserve . During the 2012-13 camera –trapping , the Nameri Tiger Reserve authorities came across few pictures of a male tiger that was earlier captured in Kaziranga Tiger Reserve in 2011 and 2012 . Garwad said that the model of dispersal (use of riverine corridors of tea gardens for movement ) is not clear but this has conclusively proved the movement of tigers between the tigers reserve of Assam .
