Though I was born and raised in England, I am currently living in north-west France. In the last three years I have lived in three different countries, and travel is my greatest passion. I love to explore new places, cultures and ideas.
When I am not travelling, I like to explore the world from my kitchen, by cooking food from other countries. In the last six months the focus of my experiments has been on food from India and Pakistan. I have taught myself how to make many traditional dishes, such as tarka daal and saag chicken, using authentic ingredients.
I love cooking, but often find that cooking websites are a daunting prospect for an untrained cook. When I write about food, I ensure that the content is not too challenging for an interested novice to understand. In my portfolio there is a piece of food writing I did some months ago, aimed at providing a 'for dummies' style recipe, along with step-by-step instructions and pictures. While the comedic tone and explicit vocabulary may not be suitable for your project, the attitude towards food, that it should be accesible and understandable for all, is one that I will maintain when writing for your website.
I feel that too few cooking websites include articles focusing on ingredients and techniques, and concentrate instead on complicated recipes. If I am selected to write for your website, I will focus on these basics, to enhance the fundamental cooking ability of your readers.
