What is BRTS? BRTS stands for “ Bus Rapid Transit System ” In this system a separate lane is created in the existing road, or a fly over or underground subways exclusively for buses. After the success of BRTS in Ahmedabad, Diamond city (Surat) has now reached a step closer to realising the dream of having the efficient public transport system. Citizens of Surat will have one advantage over their counterparts in Ahmedabad though - they will experience the comfort of air-conditioned buses from the outset. Purpose For The Introduction Of BRTS Because of the rapid increase in the population and traffic of various large and densely populated cities the public transport of the cities lost its timelyness , regularity and efficiency  Apart from that the passengers of public transport system also suffered from a lot of inconveniency and troubles due to irregularity and untimliness. So the passengers started searching for other self - manage dmode of transport as per their convenience. Thus the passenger started owning their own two wheelers or four wheelers as per their convenience which further led to increase in traffic congestion & also pollution. Because of all these factors it became necessary for the governing authority to find a suitable & appropriate remedial actions. The government studied various possible outcomes of the above situation and came out with solution of BRTS. The idea emerged by studying the brazilian model of BRTS system which was running very effectively and efficiently. So the government decided to introduce BRTS system in major cities of India which were facing heavy traffic problem and inadequate public transport system. Features Of BRTS BRTS bus will improve travelling facilities in city. Seating capacity -35 passengers and a driver. Standing capacity -50passenger, Inbuilt ticket validating machine. Liquid Emitting Diode (LED) display of bus routes and approaching bus stands. Bus includes a ticketing system using a smart card reader installed at the door. They have included the system which makes the people aware about the next station in audible format in different languages. This provide information for bus running from athwagate to piplod (Bus Id-101) & athwagate to Dummas (Bus Id-102) This Help desk provide mainly 3 functionalites: Admin side User side Forgot password for Admin 1) Admin side The Administrator of this desk provide funcality like Add new entry to the time table (begin, middle, end). Delete any entry to the time table(begin, middle, end). Modify any entry from the time table for the time given by the Administrator . Administrator also create new user. Display time table to admin 2) User side User can see the time table. User can search available buses for particular destination.
