Convert an old program (32bit) so it will install on newer 64bit OS.

Greetings, I'm an engineer(retired early due to health issues) who nearly worked for Microsoft (multiple times), on their VC++ tools team. The best way to port software to modern flavours of WIndows O/S, is to build them using modern development IDEs, and ON a modern O/S such as 7/8/10 etc, depending on which platform you wish to target. This way one guarantees that Visual Studio targets a modenr platform(usually the one it is being built on) and will "pull in" (i.e. link against) newer versions of the run-time libraries and other DLLs.
