In order to do this, you the user installing the software must be "authenticated". So if you had some idea that a "silent" install could be run, it cannot. Also, there is no "run" or RunOnce" registry key to automatically start an app on system startup. This is a complex and security driven procedure. And with each new version of OS X, it becomes more difficult. Say with Snow Leopard, it is relatively straightforward. With Lion, it became more difficult and with Mountain Lion, it is very difficult without proper authentication. So What I would need to know, is what version is this for. Have already worked on many of such projects. I can give you a installer pkg file or DMG file , Double clicking on this will take user through installation process. After successful installation , your application will be placed in required positions with required permissions. Procedure: Create package using package maker. You cannot upload it to AppStore , it has to be distributed in other ways. During installation , user will be prompted for admin credentials. Prerequisites: Need a company logo image ( if you want the installation process to have your company logo) Introduction ( if needed in text file) Read me ( if required) License (if required) What i will provide: PKG or DMG file.
