As a Durham Gratuate of MA social research methods (sociology), I have been trained to be excellent in doing statistical analysis on SPSS. From your description, the task is not diffcult. Correlation coefficient could reveal which parameter is the most influencing one. But yes like what you mentioned variables may depend on each others and have complex interaction to an outcome. Depends on what kinds of variables you have I will have different solutions to find out the interaction between variables. The interpretation of correlation is essential because correlation is not equal to casuation. Even though we could find a most dominating parameter, it should be careful to interprete how factor influence on outcome. Please believe on me. I could help you well.
