Hi Kristin,
I would love to work with you on your memoir. I have been a freelance writer since 2009, and have published two novels and over a dozen nonfiction books. I've also ghostwritten as many for clients, as well as working both with private indiviudals, and a (small) New York publisher on various editing, proofreading and formatting jobs.
I signed up on Freelancer.com quite some time ago, but never really looked at it. In fact, I don't think I've ever bid on a job before. Then today I signed in, and your job was one of the first to come up.
In the past six months, I have worked with two people on their memoirs. One a cancer survivor, another writing about her difficult pregnancy after having lost two children. I have also been working with a German lady who now lives in South Korea, helping her develop her English fiction writing skills.
You said you were looking for someone who could relate to your experiences. I became a freelance writer after closing my florist shop, walking out on my home and a dead relationship. I moved 100 miles across country to a city where I didn't know anyone, deciding to create my own job as I was unemployable by normal standards due to health issues. How's that for serendipity?
I have suggest 30 days for completion, although this could be significantly less if things go well. Also, I would never drop you and run at the end of a month if there is still work to be done. Getting it right is more important than the time it takes.
Gail
