DS2430A Calculation - repost

Hello, After a few days of generalized regression analysis, I have found a simple formula for 32nd byte. It is surprisingly simple and depends only on some bytes from the ROM data. I can test the formula on any additional data from you, to prevent the possibility of a coincidence. However, the formula is elegant enough, so I doubt it is just a coincidence. Hi I can easily help you in other way. Is this device downcounting the number of startups of your application ? If yes -and if the stored data doesnt affect you, I can propose you to "clone" the memory chip with a microcontroller's based one. I did something like this for DS2433/DS2431. This means that the microcontroller will behave on the communication line EXACLTY as you memory with your ROM ID, and it will provide the data stored inside of the uC's EEPROM. The changed data can be readed back by the application - check that it is modified ... etc. BUT - once the next reset of the chip OR any other way to "reset" it - the chip will be back to the previous / initially content stored inside. This means an unique moment "cloned" for ever but it will also pass the checks from the device / application that the data is at least for the moment modified. BR Horia Pop
