I need a solution for Programming the Allegro A1128 Programmable Hall Effect Switch using an Arduino and whatever extra hardware is needed to supply programming level Voltage levels. I believe this requires a solution for providing a supply voltage at 5V, 12V, 24V levels in pulses.. First Device will have 24v Battery, 5v regulator(s) and likely a 12V regulator. Would this be possible with only a 12V supply? Only a 5V? Hardware: solution that's reasonably efficient (min components/cost of components), for providing the programming levels. PWM/Mofset? Transistor? I have hobby level skills and don't know what the best way is. Software: at minimal, a solution that works and I can understand. I think I'm only going to work in Try mode (not permanently programming device) so I don't necessarily need the ability to blow Efuses. At best, a subroutine or library that allows for easy programming of all functions. I would like as much code comments as possible. So that I can figure it out all out. The idea is, to make code that me as a hobbyist and beginner programmer will be able to use. Please Bid Honestly. I wont give extra money unless there is a good, explained reason. Lowest Bid from freelancer who sounds like they can accomplish they task will win. Understandable English, particularly in the code comments is a HUGE plus. I need you to help me understand what the values being programmed are actually accomplishing.

The A1128 is a field-programmable, unipolar Hall-effect switch designed for use in high-temperature applications. This device uses a chopper-stabilization technique to eliminate offset inherent in single-element devices. It works fine with 5V if properly programmed. Let's chat for more details...

Hi The Allegro requires a supply in the range 3 to 24V but is optimised for 12Volt operation, so it would appear from the specification that for normal operation you could run the chip at 5V from the Arduino board. However in order to program the chip you need to use three voltages, 5, 12 and 24V, you can either use a 24V DC supply and a linear regulator that is programmable to provide the other two voltages or you could be clever and use a 5V supply and a programmable step up regulator that can use Arduino digital I/O to select one of three voltages, 5V, 12V and 24V. As the current requirements are low either would be a feasible solution to the problem. I assume you would provide the device for testing or do you require me to purchase my own unit, if so then the cost would be added to the bill. We have done several Arduino designs including a system to control a fuel additive pump working on the level in a tank, as the tank level rises the software works out the amount of fuel added and then calculates the dose required from preset data and drive the pump until the correct dose has been added. This unit includes touch ensitive screen for operator data and input and a GSM module to send messages to a mobile phone is service is required.
