Create a Logo for Planit-Earth

I have a design in mind for the logo for my new business, however, lack the skills to bring it to fruition. Essentially what I want is an outline of the earth with a silhouette of a Backpacker walking on top of it. However, rather than it being an intricate image of the earth with all its countries, seas, etc. I would like just a gradient colour scheme flowing from the middle to the outside. In the example below of the Live Earth Logo, you can see an inspirational design however, I would be looking for my backpacker to be larger on the top, walking left to right, and do not need a hole in the centre. Other design ideas would also be welcome to ensure that it is not just a direct copy of the below image. Also, please be aware that the final format should be such that multiple colours of the logo can be quickly be reproduced.
