Create Print and Packaging Designs

Ongoing work for experienced Package & Graphic Designer with discipline, creativity and initiative to design and implement product concepts and for folding box retail packaging for Japanese wellcare and beauty products. Hands on package die line design and mockups integral. We need someone whose work is innovative, fresh, and memorable. Someone having a strong sense of design concepts, typography, illustration, layout/composition and color, with knowledge of substrates and printing options. Someone who can work independently, and manage shifting priorities with high productivity, to deliver on time. WHO WE ARE: The “Asterism Group” is a young business that is striving for excellence. The group’s mission is to promote human health and wellness by positioning high quality Japanese healthcare products in global markets. About five years ago, Asterism Healthcare Plus, Inc., was founded as a Japanese company that positions healthcare products into middle-income countries, with a particular focus on Asian markets. In June 2014, Asterism USA, Inc. was established. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, the company remains closely tied to Japan’s pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industry through its wholly-owned Japanese subsidiary, Asterism Healthcare GK. Through these companies, we seek to procure, formulate, produce and market high-quality human and pet healthcare products, such as advanced foods, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, supplements, Japanese herbal therapeutics (or “Kampo Igaku”), OTC and quasi-drugs. WHO I AM: I majored in Biology at Hunter College, CUNY and continued my education at University of Massachusetts, Amherst’s Isenberg School of Business Management and the University of California, San Diego Extension where I studied Biotechnology. My professional background includes neuroscience research at New York's Rockefeller University and Weill-Cornell Medical College in addition to CNS-related stem cell and gene vector therapy development in California’s biotech industry. In Japan, I worked at RIKEN's Center for Developmental Biology and the Osaka Biosciences Institute on projects with physicians from the Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (Beijing), the First Affiliated Hospital of the China Medical University (Shenyang), and the Fudan University Shanghai Medical College (Shanghai), before initiating a business career in Japan Pharma. Within Japan Pharma, I was Manager of the International Business & Strategy Development Group at Alfresa Pharma Corporation, a pharmaceutical, medical devices and diagnostics company within the Alfresa Group, Japan's largest healthcare goods wholesaler (turnover: USD 14.5 billion/year). My work included technology search, licensing and new business development. Later, as Deputy Group Leader of Strategic Planning for the Pharmaceutical Development Division of Shionogi & Co., I broadened Shionogi’s international business, researcher and clinical networks to establish core relationships as sources of deal flow from outside Japan. Alongside, I was involved in Japan’s economic and industry development through the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) where I held the post of Executive Committee Member & Chairman of the Kansai Business Programs Committee, as well as The International Chamber of Innovation, Commerce & Enterprise (ICICE), where I had the position of Executive Chairman. For these organizations, I developed programming supportive of science and innovation-based businesses.
