Hi there, I am an experienced InDesign user (my Father is a leading InDesign trainer who has trained the staff of The Sunday Times, plus many magazines). InDesign would definitely be the best platform for your book and gives you many options to create interactive pdfs and e-publish. I use Adobe Creative Cloud, which means I have access to a wide range of professional fonts to make your document stand out and so the design reflects your content. I can also add buttons so the user can move to the next page or be one click away from the contents page, which will help with their reading experience. I also use PhotoShop widely, so I can any edit any images you have, where necessary and make sure the resolution is optimum to keep your file size down. I would need to see the current Word Document to have an idea of how long the project would take but a 1-2 day turnaround should be feasible.
