Business Process Modelling of a Medical Information System

The processes of an information system of medical devices need to be recorded and the interdepartmental information flow pathways need to be described. The technology of Business Process Modelling (BPM) should be used. BPM is used in the fields of systems engineering and software engineering and is the process and schematic representation of business processes so that they can be analyzed and improved. BPM is usually performed by business analysts and managers, who are trying to improve the quality and effectiveness of business processes. The optimization often requires the use of information technology, so that we can have a successful model. BPM needs various programming interfaces (web services, application program interfaces) which allow business applications to be built in such a way so as to stimulate the operation of BPM. For this purpose, several standards are used (e.g. BPMN, Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), Web Services Choreography Description Language (WS-CDL), XML Process Definition Language (XPDL)) and specific languages (such as Architecture of Integrated Information Systems (ARIS) and Java Process Definition Language (JBPM)).
