1. PROBLEM STATEMENT At present, we have a 1.5GB ZIP file with 70,000 + images that need to be extracted and uploaded to Amazon S3 Using “Cyberduck” (an Amazon S3 tool) this task is not possible and not easily manageable in small batches, as such, we wish to make use of EC2 functionality OBJECTIVE To produce a script that downloads from an FTP to EC2, extracts files on EC2 and then transfers those files on EC2 to S3 then deletes the EC2 files. PROVIDED RESOURCES FTP & Amazon Web Services access and credentials will be provided to the selected bidder SPECIFICATION CONCEPT Once activated, a script will start an EC2 instance. This EC2 instance will be used to download a particular file from a FTP server. Once downloaded, the EC2 instance will extract the RAR file. Once extracted, the files will be transferred into a bucket on Amazon S3. Once the transfer has been completed successfully, the files on EC2 will be deleted and the instance of EC2 stopped. Hi I've went over the attached doc I've understood your requirements. Here's an overview of what I'll use. 1. s3cmd to upload to S3 bucket 2. EC2 api tools to start and turn off the instance from MyAMI section since some of the pre-requisites needs to be installed. 3. I'll use shell script to acomplish this task. Besides I"m an AWS expert.
