Amazon AWS Repair Work Projeect

Have an AWS volume that is stuck in a trap - SSH auth is by .pem file and username, but sudo problem is requiring a password for the same username. Does not appear to be repairable in position. Looking someone who can stop the instance, detach the volume, attach it to another instance, make changes as needed to get it running again, and then restore to instance. Should be a straight-forward project for an experienced administrator.
