Contribute to the World Wide Web virtual library on Web Design

This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to establish their reputation for being knowledgeable about the web to a large audience. The World Wide Web Virtual Library was the first index of content on the World Wide Web and still operates as a directory of e-texts and information sources on the web. It was started by Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of HTML and the Web itself, in 1991 at CERN in Geneva. Unlike commercial index sites, it is run by a loose confederation of volunteers, who compile pages of key links for particular areas in which they are expert; even though it isn't the biggest index of the Web, the Virtual Library pages are widely recognised as being amongst the highest-quality guides to particular sections of the Web. We are moving and updating the site to a different Joomla server and are looking for one or more extra editors to help us refresh and update the site for us. The successful candidate(s) might (1) Move the materail that is already on the site to the new CMS. (2) contribute say 100-200 new links to primary resources (not Wikipedia) - basically carefully structured (3) contribute some original articles which will carry their name to further their own careers. (4) Maybe exchange links with high ranking sites Just tell us what you are aiming for and what you would like to charge - but remember - the WWW VL is normally voluntary and we are paying for this out of our own pockets to boost the resource's usefulness. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
