Delete files from a sharepoint document library older than a given date

objective: Delete files from a sharepoint document library older than a given date. (note changed requirement on 3/8/07 to be to a ASP.net web application instead of a desktop application) I need a utility that can be run on a regular basis to delete all the documents from a sharepoint library that are older than a given date. This should be a asp.net web app written in C#. The user should be able to specify a list of document libraries and then the tool should delete all the files from those libraries that are older than a given date. The application should log which files were deleted. The log should be kept in an XML file on the disk, keeping the document library, the file name, the userName who is running the app, and the date of deletion. The application should display progress as files are being deleted. It should display the user ID of the NT account under which the app is running. The application should use the sharepoint libraries to interface with the sharepoint site, and should be able to run from any computer with access to the sharepoint site. For scheduling, the app should either schedule itself with windows scheduler or a script should be included to add the utility to windows scheduling. It is very important that this app not delete the wrong files, or more files than it is supposed to delete, so putting fail-safe measures in place so that this doesn't happen is much desired. ## Deliverables c# 2005 windows desktop tool scheduled to run on a regular basis. ## Platform C# 2005
