CakePHP web application

We need a website built using CakePHP that will allow users to upload content they've created and also allow users to buy the content that has been uploaded. The design for the site will be created at a later date, so base functionality is all that we need right now. ## Deliverables This site will be much like [login to view URL] and http://www.flashden.net. You can check those out for reference. The objective of this website is to allow users to buy and sell user generated digital content. A user must be logged in to buy or sell a product, post comments, or send messages. A user does not need to be logged in to browse the product archive. The forum, blog, and about pages will not be implemented at this time. This project will be developed using the CakePHP framework in PHP 5, using MySQL 5 as the database. The design has not yet been completed for this webpage so it only needs to be functionally created and the layout and design will be implemented in the future. The website needs to be implemented such that the header and footer are persistent through the site. The username/password boxes used for logging in should be in the header. The footer can be left blank for now. The website will consist of the following pages: - Home - Category - Product - Search Results - Sign Up - User info - Transaction Page - Product Posting The functionality of each of these pages are as follows: 1. Home The home page will have list the currently accepted products on the site. It will also need to list the categories of products which will be linked to their respective category pages. A search box should be visible as well. For now, the search should search the products in the title and description fields. Clicking on a product category should take you to that product category page and clicking an individual product should take you to its product page. The product listing should show the thumbnail image, the title of the product, the author, and the brief description. 2. Category The category page will show each product in that category alphabetically ascending by default. This page should be paginated and allow for changing the amount per page it shows. The category should be able to be ordered by product rating, date submitted, alphabetical, price, and purchases. Each of these options should also be able to be ordered in ascending and descending order. This page should also retain a listing of the categories and the search bar. Clicking on a product should take you to the product page. 3. Product The product page should give all the meta information about the product including: Title, description, thumbnail, author, rating, and purchases. There should also be a "Buy Now" link that will be implemented in PayPal. The PayPal portion will be implemented later. You will also have the ability to view/add comments to the product, but you must be logged in to do so. The comments should be paginated as well and only show 5 per page. 4. Search Results The search results should be just like the category page, but only show the results that you search for. 5. Sign Up The user will be required to give the following information when signing up: username password first name last name avatar icon email address city state zip country paypal email phone number whether they are an author or not The sign up should also have a captcha system so that we know it's not a robot. 6. Transactions Page We need to be able to show an author when they have a purchase made. We will list the following things: Date of transaction Product Name Price The user can also see their transactions by month or by a start and end date. 7. User info There will be two versions of the user info page. One that is viewable by the logged in user and the other by the general public and logged in users that are not that user. Is should show all the information about them, allow them to change their password, and give them a summary of the money they have in their account along with their recent transactions. 8. Product Posting A user must be signed up and an author in order to post a product. The user will should be able to put in the title, description, category, price, product image, and the .zip file for the deliverable. We will deliver a desired database schema to the chosen author.
