Development of technical design for a dashboard project that will use either ASP.NET or PHP and will users to easily see and act upon information relating to their performance area.
Data to feed the dashboard could either be dumped nightly into a file or database table, we’re still looking at that aspect. Drill-down capabilities for the dashboard that would go beyond info contained in that file would most likely be via links to already existing reporting interfaces, although it is possible that we’d design using crystal reports to directly access 2 existing databases (mysql and ms sql).
The dashboard as conceived would contain a combination of graphical and color-highlighted textual elements that would be driven via business rules to be determined during development.
Total number of elements to be referenced for potential display / highlighting on the dashboard is around 30.
The design portion of this project will begin in mid-May and will last approximately 4 weeks. Responsibilities will be:
One 2-hour daytime meeting each week for 4 weeks in downtown KC (time does not include travel).
One 2-hour anytime meeting each week for 4 weeks in Overland Park (time does not include travel).
Up to 2 hours per week of document preparation and review.
Good presentation skills are essential. Previous experience working with large organization IT groups in an Windows environment is required. AS400 experience may be helpful but is not required.
There will be a phase 2 of the project which will include coding and testing. Please indicate whether you are interested in phase 2 work as well as the design / specification development phase. Estimated work for coding and development may be between 15 - 30 hours, with an additional 50% for testing and approximately 5 hours for installation and troubleshooting. (Interest in phase 2 development is NOT required to bid on design and specification development.)
If this project is successful, there is potential for additional customization and installation work for up to 20 additional groups in the KC region, as well as the potential for ongoing development of this dashboard.
You must have demonstrated high standards for quality, reliability and professionalism and must be willing to provide at least 3 references prior to final award of this project.
You may submit your bid as either an hourly rate or as a fixed bid for the design portion of this project.
