? need a custom implementation of org.apache.lucene.search.Similarity.?
The ideal developer for this project would have a deep understanding of how scoring is implemented in Lucene and also a broad understanding of scoring in IR systems in general.? A simple test of whether the developer is qualified to work on this project is the following.? Look at the Javadoc for Similarity and find the following entry in the Javadoc:
“queryNorm(q) is a normalizing factor used to make scores between queries comparable. This factor does not affect document ranking (since all ranked documents are multiplied by the same factor), but rather just attempts to make scores from different queries (or even different indexes) comparable.??
If you can challenge the description, then you might be qualified for implementing the custom class that I need.?
Next look at <[login to view URL]>.? I want to do exactly that ??" limit results to a threshold for a highly constrained class of queries.? See <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.jakarta.lucene.user/10760/focus=10810> for a good explanation of what I want to do.
This project is extremely urgent for me.? If you believe you are qualified, please contact me immediately.? However, please do not respond with a generic “let me have your requirements?? or “I can do this??.? Please detail your past experience with Lucene and IR and why you believe you can implement the required custom Similarity class.
## Deliverables
The implementation must be well documented and tested at least as wel as the Lucene DefaultSimilarity implementation.
