I am looking for a writer of code to analyze text in English in a fairly simple manner.
That is, I have texts that have some markings on or underneath some of the letters of the text: I'm looking for a code that will
"read" the texts and at the end, print out the number of times that each character (or marked character) occurs.
For example:
(I've attached a wordpad file since the web window doesn't print altered texts
These texts, though not long, are very time consuming to analyze if one wants to collate the markings oneself.
With a systematic key, I'm thinking the right code can print out occurrences of (italic) r versus r; (underlined) th versus th;
total number of occurrences of (italic+bold) "e" versus regular "e"; and so on.
I've found a couple of applications on line that are nearly accomplishing this, but not exactly reading THE MARKINGS, rather just reading regular text, and with some other drawbacks.
It seems that it might be reasonably ready to the mind of a programmer, how a program such as this could be accomplished. I've got an idea that even I could do it myself from my c programming manual, but the time required would be extreme compared to someone who's used to doing this kind of program.
The idea is that, if I have a lot of these texts, about 1 page long, I could analyze them completely with respect to characters and marked characters in a minimum of time and effort.
I would very much appreciate any response.
