CLIENT SERVER APPLICATION

I have an application that I have created for distribution in an educational setting. Here are the specifics. The app was written in VB 6.0. The database is MSAccess. The connection source to the database right now is the data1 command. I also have a version using ADO Connection. How it works now: Once installed, a single user can launch the application and enter data throughout the application. When they click on the save button, this data is saved to the database using the Data1 component. All text is saved as text and all pictures are saved as OLE Objects in the Access database. In addition, users can select to the change the background color and this is written to an ini file that is loaded when the form is opened How I want it to work: I want to be able to have 2 versions, one standalone where multiple users can login to a single machine and work on their program and a server version where when the software is installed, either the ip address or server name on the network is entered and a path to the server is created so when the client logins in, they are authenticated. Once authenticated, the client will connect with the server database and connect them to their recordset. Right now if I have ten users login to the application, they can only access the 1st recordset. MUST SIGN A NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT BEFORE BEGINNING ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Code is to be saved seperately electronically as well so I can seperate the new code from the old code since the old code is already copyrighted. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Successful completion of the project will lead to additional projects for supplementary versions of the software program. We are a trademarked and copyrighted company with multiple large scales sales on the horizon. 5) The code and program must me successful integrity testing in beta environment before payment is made. A check for 1/2 of the winning bid will be provided upon receipt of the software and after successful tetsing is performed the balance will be sent. ## Platform The software needs to be able to work on the following platforms: 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP. It should be able to work with Windows 2000 Service pack 3 and Windows XP Service Pack 1. ## Deadline information This code must must be completed by the 1st of April, 2003 to insure proper beta testing before distribution to University in the Fall of 2003. If the winning developer does not complete the code by said due date, the will lose 5.00 per day late. I will bug test the software additionally when I get it to insure each feature requested works and that their are no problems with database connection or database entry.
