A Site that Manages and Sells Digital Content

We would like a web site which allows its members to upload digital content to it, and set prices for the digital content. Each member of our web site can both sell and purchase the items hosted on the site. The site provides a content management interface for it's users. A seller can be a member with an e-mail address and a password, upload his digital content to our site and set a price for the content (also add title, description etc.). A buyer can be a member the same way described above, and he can search through the digital content titles and descriptions (also browse through the categories) and select a product and purchase it through PayPal or credit card. When the user makes the payment, the system will allow the download of the digital product. In addition to the web site, we would like you to build a desktop application (downloadable through the website). User will download this application, and when he executes it for the first time, he'll provide his username and password. From that time, that application will stay in system tray of the client (rebooting should not matter). When the user clicks the application icon in the tray, a small window (with the same interface characteristics as the website) will be asking for a file, title, price and category (in three steps). This application will help our members to upload and set price for a digital content easily, in three simple steps and not through the browser. Our users will be able to drag and drop the digital content to that application. When the user sets the price, category etc. and presses "submit", the info will be uploaded to our database automatically, and an entry will be created in our database (just like the entries created from the web interface). ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Most technical solutions are welcome, including Java ASP.NET, PHP etc. The database which stores the information (both system-member information and files) should however be MySQL. The desktop application on the client side should however be a WIN32 application working on platforms WIN2K and later. The desktop application shall not be a JAVA or .NET application requiring a runtime environment to be downloaded, it should be a native executable. Open-source libraries and off the shelf components are welcome. However you can not build the entire system on a simple open-source shopping cart application.
